Counter Unmanned
Aircraft Systems
Detection, classification, and defeat of hostile unmanned aircraft systems.
Since 2016, Black River Systems has been the lead developer of the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Ninja C-sUAS family of products that detects and defeats small UAS.
The company matured the original Ninja system from concept to Initial Operational Capability (IOC) in just 8 months, and deployed the improved Ninja Gen2 system just 10 months after this.
The Joint C-UAS Office selected Ninja as one of three fixed-site systems for procurement. Ninja has been selected as the Air Force C-sUAS Program of Record. The company manufactures, tests, deploys, and trains operators. Today, this capability is actively protecting DoD installations with over 565 Ninja systems fielded at 190 unique locations worldwide.
These systems are currently in use by numerous government organizations, with continued evolution incorporating Machine Learning algorithms.
