Internship
Program
Develop professional skills through challenging, real-world engineering projects alongside experienced defense technology engineers.
Program Overview
Real engineering, real problems
Black River Systems offers summer internships designed to develop students' professional skills through challenging, team-based projects. Interns work alongside experienced engineers and executives who provide mentoring and feedback throughout the program.
This isn't busy work. Interns contribute to active programs in counter-UAS systems, radar safety, beamforming technology, and electromagnetic field mapping. You'll write code that ships, build hardware that gets tested, and solve problems that matter.
What You'll Work On
RF signal detection algorithm development
Direction finding implementation
Software-defined radio interfacing
Prototype hardware evaluation and integration
Signal processing and software development
Counter-UAS systems research
Radar safety systems
Beamforming technology
Competitive Salary
Paid internship with compensation competitive for engineering roles in the region.
Mentoring
Bi-weekly mentoring meetings with experienced engineers. Direct feedback from technical leadership.
Real Projects
Work on active defense programs, not simulations. Your contributions go into fielded systems.
Career Path
Top interns receive full-time offers. Many current engineers started as Black River interns.
