REACT
Multi-Domain Tracker
Resilient, Expandable, Adaptive Core Tracker — multi-sensor, multi-target automatic tracking, fusion, and sensemaking since 1998.
Overview
Sensor-agnostic tracking & fusion
REACT provides sensor-agnostic tracking functions performing essential data association and state estimation methods fundamental to any tracking solution. The software processes Moving Target Indicator (MTI) data from multiple sensor types — Airborne MTI (AMTI), Video MTI (VMTI), and Moving Target Indicator Overhead Persistent Infrared (MTIO).
Supporting simultaneous tracking of air, ground, and maritime targets, REACT is a true multi-domain solution. Its architecture cleanly separates sensor interfaces from core tracking algorithms, enabling rapid integration with new radar systems and sensor platforms without modifying the tracking engine itself.
The BRAT tracker — derived from REACT and in continuous development since 2007 — is a Technology Readiness Level 9 (TRL-9) product operationally deployed by the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community. It typically processes surveillance data at 10x real-time for wide area surveillance platforms, enabling analysts to process hours of collected data in minutes.
Core Attributes
Resilient
Handles data format inconsistencies, radar anomalies, sensor dropouts, and network failures without degradation. Designed for real-world data with all its imperfections — not clean lab conditions.
Expandable
Adapts to nearly any MTI-producing radar system through configurable sensor interfaces. New sensors can be integrated without modifying the core tracking algorithms. The architecture scales from single-sensor to multi-sensor fusion environments.
Adaptable
Highly configurable parameters allow operators to tune tracking behavior based on sensor characteristics, target environment, and mission requirements. The same core software serves tactical UAV radar processing and strategic wide-area surveillance.
Sensor Support
Multi-sensor integration
REACT processes MTI data from any sensor that produces moving target indicators — airborne radar, video analytics, and overhead persistent infrared.
Airborne Moving Target Indicator
Radar data from airborne surveillance platforms including tactical UAVs and manned aircraft.
Video Moving Target Indicator
Motion-derived target tracks from full-motion video and wide-area motion imagery sensors.
MTI Overhead Persistent IR
Moving target data from overhead persistent infrared sensors for continuous area surveillance.
Operational Deployments
Proven across services and missions
U.S. Army
STARLite-BRAT
Integrated into Army One Ground System for Gray Eagle tactical UAV radar processing. Provides real-time ground moving target indication and tracking from Gray Eagle's STARLite radar, feeding processed tracks directly to Army ground station operators for tactical decision-making.
U.S. Navy
TTWCS-BRAT
Embedded within the Navy's Maritime Targeting Capability and Tactical Tomahawk Weapon Control System. Processes maritime surveillance radar data for over-the-horizon target tracking, providing the targeting chain with fused track information for engagement decisions.
